HATCHAM SOCIAL (UK)
Hatcham Social er indiepoppers som startet opp i New Cross, London. Nevnes kan "Dance As If.../Catch Me If You Can (You Can't), 2006 og "Til The Dawn/Penelope (Under My Hat)", 2007.
The Charlatans) kaller Hatcham Social "a wonderful pop group with the world's coolest drummer".
En usedvanlig passende metafor på årets debutalbum 'You Dig The Tunnel, I'll Hide The Soil".
Musikkjournalister som liker namedropping nevner ofte Hatcham Social i samme slengen som Electricity In Our Homes, Neils Children Boys Of Brazil , KASMs , Factory Floor, Ipso Facto etc.

Om debutalbumet "You Dig The Tunnel, I'll Hide The Soil" :
"You Dig the Tunnel, I'll Hide the Soil is one of the most impressive debuts you'll hear from the past, say, five years (I'd say decade, but that's a pretty massive statement that even I'm not prepared to back). Produced by Tim Burgess of the Charlatans, it manages to reference the pastiche du jour (that would be a healthy mix of the Fall and JAMC's cynicism with the pop sensibility of Kinks and Jam), without sounding annoyingly familiar. These songs are both pleasant on the ears and engaging enough to pull you back for repeat listens."

"It’s no surprise to discover Tim Burgess – a man who’s spent 20 years making tunes so catchy they could give the cold a run for its money – is part of the production force behind the debut from Hatcham Social. Yet, as well as the hook-heavy Brit-fop choruses of ‘Hypnotise Terrible Eyes’ and ‘In My Opinion’ there’s also a heavy debut owed to the loveliness of Lloyd Cole. In fact, ‘Crocodile’ and ‘Penelope (Under My Hat)’ are shot through with such a delicious ’80s indie jangle it makes you wonder what the band have to talk about with their chums The Horrors. But such a friendship makes more sense when things take a turn for The Fall with the spoken-word-and-greasy-guitar version of Lewis Carroll’s ‘Jabberwocky’. A stunner."
NME 8/10
"On record and in appearance, Hatcham Social are the archetypal twee 1980s-worshipping indie band: all patterned jumpers, jangly guitar melodies and sway-along drums. But the honeyed sound of their four singles, and the sight of Finn Kidd at the start of this show, crouched behind his drumkit chewing his nails, is no preparation for the exhilarating ferocity of their 10-song, 30-minute set. If Toby Kidd's guitar jangles, it is with the shivering clash and clang of metal objects rattling together. David Fineberg's bass is more tuneful but no less aggressive, the notes skittering around Finn's pummelled drums as though the two were engaged in a bout of bare-knuckle boxing."
